For men in treatment

Coverage while you go through treatment.

A hair system is a cosmetic way for a man to cover the hair changes that come with chemotherapy or radiation, without surgery and without adhesive that a treated scalp cannot handle. For most men this loss is temporary and hair returns after treatment ends, so we design coverage that works right now and comes off cleanly when your own hair grows back. It changes how the loss looks, nothing more, and every medical question belongs with your oncology team.

A cosmetic option, not a medical one

Chemotherapy and radiation can thin or remove hair as a side effect, and that is a medical reality your care team manages. A hair system does none of that. It is not a medicine, not a diagnosis, and it will not slow, stop, or bring back what treatment is doing to your hair. What it does is cover the area so you can look like yourself while your body handles the rest.

We are hair replacement artists, not clinicians. Anything about your treatment, your scalp health, or when your hair might return is a conversation for your oncologist or dermatologist, and we will always point you back to them. We are glad to work alongside your care, never in place of it.

Most of this is temporary, and we plan for that

For the majority of men, treatment related loss is not permanent. Hair usually starts returning in the months after treatment finishes, sometimes a little different in texture or color at first. That changes how we approach a system, because we are not fitting you for a lifetime unit. We are covering a defined stretch of time and building an easy exit for when your own hair takes over again.

That means we favor attachment you can put on and take off yourself, coverage that can be trimmed back as regrowth fills in, and a plan with no long commitment baked into it. If your hair comes back the way most men's does, the system simply retires when you no longer need it.

Gentle attachment for a sensitive scalp

A scalp going through treatment is often fragile, tender, or reactive, and that rules out the aggressive bonding adhesives used in a standard install. We do not put strong solvents or hard bonds on skin that is already sensitive. Instead we lean on gentler methods that hold without stressing the scalp.

In practice that usually means clip based attachment onto any hair you still have, or a soft cap style base that sits over the whole scalp with light, skin friendly hold. The point is comfort first. If a method causes any irritation, it is the wrong method for you, and we would rather change the approach than ask you to tolerate it.

  • Clip attachment onto remaining hair, no harsh adhesive
  • Soft cap style coverage for a fully bare scalp
  • Gentle, skin friendly hold chosen around scalp comfort
  • On and off yourself, so nothing is a battle to remove
  • Coverage that trims back as your own hair returns

Radiation related loss to a specific area

Radiation can affect hair in the area being treated rather than across the whole head, which leaves an area or a band of loss instead of full coverage loss. A system handles that the same cosmetic way it handles any localized change, by sizing coverage to the affected area and blending it into the surrounding hair.

Because radiation loss to a treated field can sometimes persist, we will not promise you either way about regrowth. That is your radiation oncologist's call, not ours. What we can do is cover the appearance today and adjust the coverage later based on whatever your scalp actually does.

Timing it around your treatment

Men come to us at different points. Some want coverage ready before treatment starts so the change never feels sudden, some come partway through, and some wait until after. There is no wrong time, and the right time is whatever feels manageable alongside everything else you are carrying.

If you want to prepare ahead, we can take a template and plan the look while you still have your hair, so the transition is smooth. If you are already mid treatment, we work with your scalp exactly as it is that day and keep the fitting short and low stress. We follow your pace and your care team's guidance, not a schedule of our own.

What drives cost and upkeep

Cost is driven by the base material, the type of hair, how much of the scalp needs coverage, and how often you come in. Because treatment related wear is usually a defined period, many men choose a straightforward, comfortable build rather than the most elaborate one, and we help you weigh that against how you want to look day to day.

Upkeep during treatment is kept deliberately light. The scalp comes first, so we set a gentle cleaning and wear routine and check in on comfort rather than pushing a heavy maintenance rhythm. We are upfront about the cadence before you commit so nothing about it catches you off guard.

Deciding if this is right for you

If you are facing hair changes from treatment and you want to look like yourself through it, a system is a genuine, low pressure option. It gives you control over one part of a situation where a lot feels out of your hands, and it steps aside quietly when your own hair returns.

The honest next step is a consultation, ideally with your care team already in the loop. We look at your scalp in person, keep the visit calm, and tell you plainly whether a system fits where you are right now. If the timing or the method is not right for you yet, we will say so.

Real work

This is what it looks like.

A real client from our chair, photographed before and after his hair system was installed and cut in.

Before and after: a client with a thinning crown, then with dark curly hair, a fresh fade, and a lined-up beard after his install.

Questions, answered.

Will a hair system regrow my hair or help it come back?

No. A system is a cosmetic covering, not a medicine or a treatment. It changes how the loss looks and does nothing to your hair or scalp underneath. Whether and when your hair returns is a question for your oncology team, not for us.

Is attachment safe on a scalp that is sensitive from treatment?

We avoid the strong adhesives used in a standard install. For a treated scalp we use gentle clip attachment onto remaining hair or a soft cap style base with light hold, and we change the method immediately if it causes any irritation.

Should I get a system before treatment starts or after?

Either works, and it is your call. Some men prepare coverage ahead so the change is smooth, others come partway through or wait until after. We follow your pace and your care team's guidance rather than a fixed schedule.

What happens when my own hair grows back?

That is exactly what we plan for. The coverage can be trimmed back as regrowth fills in, and because we use easy on and off attachment with no long commitment, the system simply retires when you no longer need it.
