What a system does, and what it does not do
Alopecia is a broad word covering several different patterns of hair loss, from small round patches to loss across the entire scalp, and sometimes the loss of eyebrows and lashes too. A hair system does not treat any of that. It is not a medicine and it is not a diagnosis. What it does is cover the area, so the day to day question of how you look has an answer you control.
We are hair replacement artists, not doctors. If you have not already spoken to a physician or dermatologist about what is behind your loss, that is worth doing, because the cause matters for your health even when a system is the right cosmetic call. We are glad to work alongside that, and we will never tell you a unit will cure, reverse, or regrow anything.
Patchy loss versus full scalp loss
When alopecia shows up as patches with healthy hair around them, a system can be sized and blended into the hair you still have, similar to covering any partial loss. The surrounding hair does a lot of the work, overlapping the edge so there is no visible border between your hair and the unit.
When the loss covers most or all of the scalp, the approach is different but often more straightforward. With little or no hair to blend into, the unit builds a full head of hair from the hairline back, and the design of that hairline becomes the detail that makes it read as yours. Either way, the goal is the same: coverage that holds up in normal light and at a normal distance.
Fitting a scalp that has no hair to anchor to
One honest difference with total loss is attachment. A system is bonded to the scalp itself rather than clipped into existing hair, so the skin and how it reacts to adhesive matter more than usual. We test how your scalp responds before committing to a routine, because comfort over a bare scalp is not something to guess at.
Some conditions leave the scalp sensitive, and some people are managing flare ups where hair comes and goes. We take that seriously. The plan is built around your scalp being comfortable first, and the look second, because a unit that irritates your skin is not a unit you will want to wear.
When your loss is still changing
Alopecia does not always sit still. Patches can grow, shrink, move, or fill back in, and that can feel like the ground shifting under any plan you try to make. A system is actually one of the more forgiving options here, because it is not permanent and it is not committed to your scalp staying exactly as it is today.
If more hair sheds, coverage can extend. If hair grows back in an area, the fit can be adjusted or the surrounding hair reworked into the blend. We would rather set expectations plainly at the start than have you feel locked into a look that no longer matches what your scalp is doing.

Full scalp coverage uses more material than a small patch, and finer, more skin-like bases cost more than sturdier ones, so the right balance depends on your loss and your daily life rather than a fixed number.
Upkeep is a rhythm, not a one time thing. The bond loosens over time and the hair needs cleaning and cutting like any hair does, so regular maintenance is what keeps the coverage looking the way it did on day one. We are upfront about that cadence before you commit so nothing about the commitment is a surprise.
