The main base types
There is no best base, only the right base for how you live. Someone who works outdoors in Arizona heat has different needs from someone in an office who wants the most invisible hairline possible.
- Lace hair systems, the most breathable and natural looking at the front, and the most delicate
- Skin (poly) hair systems, a thin, durable base that is easy to clean, with a very natural scalp look
- Hybrid hair systems, lace at the front for the hairline and a sturdier material through the back for wear
Density and texture
Density is how much hair is tied into the base. Too much is the single most common reason a system looks wrong, because real hair at your age is rarely as thick as people expect. Texture is matched to your own hair so the two blend rather than sit side by side.

Which base lasts the longest?
Generally the sturdier the material, the longer it lasts, and the slight trade is at the hairline. A hybrid is often the practical middle ground.
How do you pick my density?
We match it to what is natural for your age and build, not the maximum available. Slightly less is almost always more convincing.
Can I change base type later?
Yes. Plenty of clients adjust after living with their first system and learning what they actually want.
