What shortens a system's life
The same things that wear out anything you wear daily. Heat, friction, product build up, and sweat all break down a base over time. Thinner bases give you the most invisible front, and they are also the ones that wear fastest. That trade is worth understanding before you choose.

What extends it
A maintenance schedule is the single biggest factor. Coming in on time keeps the attachment sound, the scalp healthy, and the hair looking like it belongs to you. Most men also rotate between two systems so each one gets a rest, which meaningfully extends the life of both.

Should I have a second system?
Many clients do. Rotating gives each unit time to recover and means you always have a backup, so you are never caught out before an event.
How often is maintenance?
It is set to your system and how you wear it. We agree a schedule at your install so it fits your routine rather than being a surprise.
What happens when a system wears out?
You replace the unit, not the whole approach. Your template is on file, so a replacement is straightforward.
